1.4 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 3. Installation methods.
C. Shop Drawings: Indicate floor joint pattern and termination details including provisions for expansion and contraction, base, base corner details.

D. Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available species, cuts and grain patterns.

F. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Perform work in accordance with NOFMA - National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association

1.6 QUALIFICATIONS
A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum five years documented experience producing wood flooring similar to those specified in this section. B. Installer Qualifications: Minimum three years documented experience installing wood flooring similar to those specified in this section
1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Store products indoors in a properly heated and ventilated area until ready for installation. B. Deliver materials after wet construction work is complete and ambient air at installation space has moisture content stabilized between 35 and 50 percent and temperature is stabilized between 65 and 80 degrees F. C. Stack wood for acclimation procedures to facilitate cross-ventilation of wood materials.
1.8 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETING
A. Convene minimum one week prior to commencing Work of this section. B. Review installation procedures and procedures for acclimation of flooring materials.
1.9 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

2.3 BASE MATERIALS

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

B. Verify wood subfloor Specified in Section 06100 is properly secured, smooth and flat to plus or minus 1/4 inch in 10 feet.
C. Verify wood flooring has been acclimated to ambient temperatures, and acclimation and ambient temperatures are in accordance with flooring manufacturer's instructions.
D. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Install wood flooring in accordance with manufacturer's and NOFMA 24 instructions.
B. Lay flooring in patterns indicated on Drawings. Verify alignment as work progresses.
C. Arrange flooring with ends set flush and tight.
D. Terminate flooring at centerline of door openings where adjacent floor finish is dissimilar. Provide divider strips as required.
E. Install edge strips at unprotected or exposed edges, and where flooring terminates.
F. Install flooring tight to floor access covers.
G. Install base at floor perimeter to cover expansion space in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
H. Floor Finish: Provide clear floor finish as specified in Section 09900.
3.4 PROTECTION
A. Protect installed products until completion of project.
B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.

3.5 SCHEDULES
A. Wood Plank Flooring: Walnut, random length plank, nailed to wood subfloor or 1 by 3 inch (25 by 75 mm) sleepers, three coat polyurethane finish.
B. Wood Strip Flooring: White Oak, random length, staggered joint, nailed to wood subfloor over sleepers over concrete subfloor, three coat polyurethane finish.
